I started Gomshall Flower Shoppe tonight ...Stitching a Marty Bell is like slipping on an comfy old pair of slippers for me...lol... I'm just finishing a very large piece (still life-bouquet of flowers) from Scarlett Quince. I've been working on that for a little more than a year and a half and my goal is to finish it by the end of June and get it framed and to the county fair beginning of August. Then I'll go back to Marty Bells again. I still have about 10 in my stash. Don't know which one I'll do next. Gomshall Flower Shop was a fun piece to do. I really enjoyed it. It will look very well with Tuck Box Tea Room. Fern

Diane, it's great to hear that your family member is doing well. I'll say a prayer for him. Coral, how is your winter season going? Are you keeping warm down under? Greeneyes, I remember you from the other board, but I don't remember your first name. Welcome back. Fern, glad your recent travels are complete and that all went well. I'm looking forward to seeing you so much when you come east in the fall. I haven't been doing much stitching...just an easy piece that I started in January, a church in a snow scene, all in shades of blue, DMC#775, 796, 797, 798, 799, 800, 823, and white. I'm finishing the last of the snow and I'm bored with it, but one or two nights should finish it. I've mostly been working on quilts. We have two graduations coming up next week, one DGD from HS, and one from 8th grade. Rebecca, my 17 year old DGD, (the one who witnessed the brain operation last Feb,) has gotten a wonderful scholarship to NYU, and has been admitted to the presidential honors program there to study neuroscience. I just pray that nothing happens to her in the big city. and that she stays her sweet self. We're having some trees taken down also this week, one that is huge and hanging right over our neighbor's fence. It's right on the property line and part of the trunk is rotted away. Also, we have two hemlocks by the front porch which have so many dead branches that we've decided to take them down too. So today we went out and bought several Andromedas to put there. We need a good deer proof, shade-loving shrub to replace them, so I hope these will be the answer. Good stitching, everyone. Helen

We have had a long weekend this week as it is the Queens Birthday and haven't had a temp above 13 degrees C and very wet ....but we LOVE the rain. We have many friends down in Florida where their water table is very low, and they are finally getting badly needed rain too. Here, we had a very cool, wet spring, and in fact, just the other night we had to have the wood stove going. But now it is warming up, and with it comes the dreaded humidity. Helen

It is so neat to see color conversions as the originals are sometimes very boring! Who does the tall Sundae? It is delicious looking. I would like to stitch that. I have Mira's Queen Mermaid; I have stitched her once but someone saw her framed hanging at the frame shop and made me an offer; I have since sold her Mermaid of the Pearls, Deepest Love, Waiting for Ships, Titania, Midsummer Nights Fairy, Angel Proclamation, Crystal Christmas and Rose Celebration (all Mirabilias). I wanted to redo them all on the hand dyed fabrics so it was an easy choice. I think it's cool that you have seen the real Tuck Box; What a treat! We all very seldom get to visit Marty's inspirations for her works. She had such a talent. It is a shame that no one is doing the rest of her designs. Maybe someone will soon. There are many I wished were in xstitch. Thank you all for sharing in my album; we all love to stitch and it is nice to be able to share. i love the Mirabilia and L&L. I am a sparkly and bead person, but I love my classic Martys and the Kustom Krafts animals, they are so lifelike. Coral, post a picture soon, looking forward to it. Has anyone heard from Audrey?
