To all of our American Stitchers and to our Canadian friends who call their National Holiday by another name. To all the rest of yo
u I wish you a good day too.
We'll have a quiet 4th. No family near so I will fix a steak dinner tonite for hubby. We'll probably play some Scrabble today since we enjoy challenging each other. We won't attend the City Fireworks display. Parking to difficult and the loud noise is tough for me these days. But we will take out our lawn chairs and enjoy the local neighborhood fireworks. The kids always provide plenty of lights.
Stitching is going well. Right now I'm back in a spot of background which is dark and I don't enjoy but I just finished a beautiful small bunch of blue flowers. They were so much fun. Now I have to decide whether I want to do a huge pink rose or whether I want to drop down in the piece and do some more orangey-yellow flowers. Both are bright and beautiful.
My real flower beds are doing well. But I do need to get out there and do some trimming and some fertilizing. The day lilies are now in full bloom, and the hibiscus will soon be in bloom. Then there's the Nicotiana which is blooming away but which needs deadheading about every other day to keep it in bloom all summer. We've been fortunate to have rain all of June. I did have to water the other day and suspect that it will now be dry and I will need to water twice a week. Well, I knew that when I planted, didn't I.
Have a great day, everyone.
