Posts: 18 (05/01/08 07:22:37) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	Tags : None Hello Everyone------Most days I check in here to see if there are any new posts, and lately I'm wondering what is happening with this board. Or maybe it's just me? I see a date of 4-29-08 as the last post on a thread, and when I go into it, it's just not there. Or maybe I'm just dense. Then I started checking around and clicking here and there, and suddenly it seems I rearraged the whole board........the thread that was topmost was suddenly way down the bottom, and vice versa. I didn't mean to mess it up, but maybe it just got messed up for me and not anyone else? Gee, help me out here. I'm sorry that there do not seem to be many posters on this new board. I and some of the "oldies" from the other MB board do not really like this new one, can't get used to it, but we're trying. And we sit around and moan about it, and wish for the old one back. It was like our old coffee klatch was suddenly taken away from us. But the old one is not going to come back, I guess, so no use crying about it. I do wish that there were more activity on this one, though, and that it were easier to use, especially for us who are in our 70's, and for whom change does not come so easily. I hope you are all enjoying beautiful spring weather, getting your gardening done, and your stitching too. Sunday evening, we came home after a concert at dusk to find a crowd of seven deer by our front porch. I hope they don't eat my newly planted rhododendrons. Helen

What is new there are sometimes 2 pages, so the 29 post could be on the second page. Remember the old board, would once in awhile read a bit and you all always had a great time. So now your back from Florida, did you have good time and nice weather? You must live somewhere with woods, because of the deer,sounds wonderful, but if they love to eat from your garden is a different story, hope they leave your Rodondendrons alone. How's the weather Helen? It was here very hot for 4 days too hot, now it's normal spring weather and even cold in the evenings, so everyone here have colds, too much change in weather is no good either. But no human can change this, saw a few days ago what a tornado had done to a shoppingmole and cars outside, thought it very scary. Helen, if you look at the top of the page, after you have logged in, than there's your name account, images, logout, next to it are 3 different symbols, if you go with your mouse over each one it will tell you what it is, messages is your private mailbox, the second one is friends status and the third is comments. I'll send you one and see if you can work it out. How's your stitching at the moment?Did you stitch in Florida. Happy stitching, Fenny. It has nothing to do with your age, my dears, it is called Technology!!! Helen, I am not sure what you are talking about, but I do think you can just click a few things and see the messages are still there, just hidden. At the top of a post, on the right hand side, you will see this: (-) .... IF you click that symbol, you will see this (+) and the message will be "hidden". NO PROBLEM!!! Just click the (+) and it will show pop back up just like magic!!! This new board does take some getting used too, but it is good, and is a lot more safer from those scum buckets that posted smut on our old board. Just take your time, and learn it at your own pace. Go to the top of the page, and click "getting started" and it will help you with all the new stuff here. It is fun, and I was wondering where everyone went from the old board! I am glad to see you back. Yes, it is change, but a good one. We don't have to look at the bad stuff those goofballs always posted on our old board. I think, once you get used to it, you will like it. Hope this helps, and Fenny is right, there just might be 2 pages, or even 3 to a post. Hang in there, Helen, we will help you get thru it!!! That woudl be a good one for you to read! Do you remember Aussie Mandy from the old board? You REALLY should read that one! It isn't messed up at all. Have a yuku account and also an EZboard account, since we're upgraded to yuku, have still the 2 accounts and everyone of them has a different system, so you see we are all on our toes, but we try to figure it all out. Helen, are you also still making quilts? Do you have a site we would be able to see them?!! My neighbour lived for 4 years in the USA and went to a quilting class, and made very nice ones, she really enjoyed doing them. But that's a real American craft, have seen very beautiful quilts, do have a book, but don't think I would have the patience for it. Like you wrote once, you like doing French Knots, well have heard many a girl complain about them, some don't even know how to do them and use beads instead. Well, that is a solution, don't you think?! Well it friday evening, the weekend before us, hope you all have a good one!! Happy stitching, Fenny. I guess I am too impatient to become a techie, or too lazy to look around for things to click on, etc. I did find your post from 4-29, Sue, and Mandy's post about her pregnancy. Hey Mandy.........how do you like the ladies with the big bellies up by my post that begins this thread?! That should be by one of your posts! (I hope it doesn't change before you get to look at it.) Another question: Sue and Fenny---are they your pictures by your posts? If they are, they are too small to really see what you look like. And apparently, they can't be enlarged. I tried. Fenny, do you live in Holland? I looked at your stitching site, and I saw a map of the "Nederlands" Is the scenery in your picture somewhere near your home? It's very beautiful. I was in Holland many years ago....1969. I just loved it. Sue, while I was in Florida, I kept track of your bird shirt as you posted it. Very funny! I was unable to post at the time....the site would not let me in for some reason or other. Fenny, I don't live near any "big" woods, but I am rural here. I have small patches of woods on our property, as do many people around here. The deer live in them. Don't ask me how, but they do. We have a vegetable garden out back, and we have an eight foot fence around it. They can easily jump a 4 foot fence. I am still working on Sunlit Stroll, and have about 5,000 stitches to go. Then the top stitching.....ugh. Helenl

Yes, I still quilt, but not as much as I used to. If you'd like to see my quilts (and xstitch) you can see them at: http://community.webshots.com/user/helenn131 Mostly I just make the quilt tops and send them out to be professionally quilted. It takes a whole year to hand quilt a bed-size quilt, and I just don't want to spend the time anymore. I'm too anxious to get the quilt finished. The Thomas Kincaid that I have posted on my site has hundreds of French knots. I don't know if the picture is clear enough to distinguish them, though. I think it would take me much longer to put beads on than FKs. Some people mix them and it's supposed to be a really nice effect. Thanks for all your help, ladies! Helen

You can load one yourself, just check the "Getting Started" at the top, as I do not remember how I did mine... It has been a while, and don't worry, we are all learning on this board! the "Avatars" are a symbol of us.... I still don't know everything, seems like every time I log in, I find something new! Thanks for the compliment on the shirt! I do get a lot of compliments on it. I have homing pigeons, and I WON'T wear it out to the loft!! HA HA! that is one that they are not going to "get"!!! there is still a lot I don't know about this board, but do have the basics down to pat anyway. Helen, you are posting, so that is half the battle! Hang in there, and we will eventually get back into the swing of things! Fenny doesn't live in Holland, she lives in Israel. Very pretty pics too! Your quilts are exquisite, sooo beautiful, you make the patterns yourself? Loved the one with the tiny pieces, from what I saw, they can't be bigger than a stamp, how do you do it? Do you sew them on by hand? A sight for sore eyes that's for sure, loved your pictures too, remember the Thomas Kinkade, had a look at it in Holland in the shop, but saw it and decided not to buy it, you know why. The avatar is a regular picture, but because there's just a small place to put it, it turns out very small, yesterday Tom put the same picture on my EZboard account , and it took about 20 minutes to figure out how to do it, you know we read the english and understand it, yet somehow to me it's computer language and it all seems suddenly so difficult, but we tried and succeded in the end, just a lot of pushing buttons and suddenly it seems so easy Maybe I never introduced myself properly, so here goes. Married and we have 4 sons , the eldest is 27 and lives in Tel Aviv with his girlfriend, he works and studies there. The second is 25 and studies in our hometown at the local college and works too. The third is in the countries service, but will,(G-d willing) end this service in july. Tom is 15 years old and goes to junior high. He plays the drums, and yesterday he had 2 friends with guitars, practising, but they sound great together. ( In the basement) Born and raised in Holland, came to Israel after I finished my study as a nurse, after a lot of thinking and advise decided to do that in the language I learned to speak as a child.. So when I got here, went to a kibbuts to learn the language and worked with small children, and yes did learn a lot from them too. We got married and live now in the north of the country, between Accre and Tiberias. My avatar is a picture taken by the Sea of Galilee, it was a cloudy and rainy day, but if you look well, the sun was shining on the mountain behind me and there were all these beautiful yellow flowers. If you send me a private message with your email, I can send you "my location" from Google earth, then you can travel all over the world, and you can go to places, you would like to go. Just try , or answer my private message to you, I'll get it in my yuku mailbox. That's another good thing with this board, there is more privacy.
