Hi Coral.
Your update is amazing, how do you stitch so much in just a month? Do you have a rotarion? And if you don't mind me asking, how you can stitch a page like this? If I stitch a page at a time, you can see in my stitching, where the page starts and finishes Happy Stitching :) My cross stiching album:

Hi Fenny ...
I can manage to stitch a page in 7-10 days When I stitch a page I don't have a problem with beeing able to see the edge of the pages ...I know they warn you not to do this but I have never had a problem with being able to see a ridge I don't grid my fabric either ..I just find the middle of the design and work that page then keep going ...I BS as I finish each page so I don't have a lot to do at the end ... I stitch MB's by stitching a column of 10 stitches down the page ...if stitches of the same colour are in the next column I will overflow into the next column and stitch these too ...so after you have the first column stitched you have quite a bit of the next done Hopw this helps ...not the right way to stitch but it works for me anyway...lol...Love Coral 1. Hi Coral.
You must be a great stitcher if you can't see the ridges!! But also don't grid, think it takes a lot of time, when in that time you can start stitching, used to start in the middle, like you. When the patterns are larger I start at the right top and count with pins, works for me Have never done a rotation stitched till bored with it, but however, have now 2 in rotation and w'll see how it goes, one week for each. Do you also rotate like that, or are you doing it by the pages? We all stitch the way it suits us, and what works for one doesn't always work for the other, but in the end we all have the pretty pictures we stitched It's good to know how others do it, because it helps to know their tips!!! Have a good weekend. Happy Stitching :) My cross stiching album:

Hello | ||

It took me 20 minutes to try various combinations for my user name and password, both of which I'd forgotten. I'm back from Florida, and happy to be
home. Coral, your TBTR is coming along beautifully! I've been there some years back, but was worried about getting the car towed away. They are very
strict in Carmel about overtime parking, or at least they used to be. You are a fabulous stitcher. Love, Helen

Coral, as usual, this is beautiful. I still gaze at the 4 photos you sent me years ago as inspiration. Miss Hathaways Garden is still my favorite. Thanks for
the updates and the stitching hints.

Hi Fenny,
I'm a little late responding but I did want to tell you how I handle stitching one page at a time. I'm working on a really large project now so it is in book form. I do what Coral does, if there are a few stitches same color that extend over into the next page I do them. If not I stop at the end of the page. pa But I am careful never to end a thread at the end of the page. Then you will get a ridge line. I make sure that I've gone back into the page a little and nd done some of the same color so that I can stop that color and run it under a few threads just not at the edge of the page. Does this make any sense. It works very well for me and I never have any ridges. This chart I did have to grid so I wouldn't lose my place but I tend to stitch all over a page using one color if I can reach it within ten stitches. That's one reason I'm a one needle person. Anyway my project is going very well. I think I stitch at about the same pace as Coral. I can usually finish a page in about a week. I recently figured out my pace and I stitch about 300 stitches a day or more. Of course, I'm retired with no family nearby so I have a lot more time. But now it's spring, raking time and next week planting time. We've had lots of rain the last two weeks so our soil is getting replenished. Supposed to be 75 degrees tomorrow Have a great week everyone. Fern |

Our eldest doesn't live at home anymore and the other is in the country's service, so there's a 25 and 15 year old at school at home, I'm a housewife, so do have stitching time, the men don't mind, they also have hobbies and like the stitched pictures, one of the boys even stitched a smiley for a friend's birthday, well he was 12 at the time, and had fun doing it. We did the garden allready, no rain, very dry and it was this week 88degrees, we have to help nature a little and have lots of plants that don't need much water and like the very hot sun. Have a good weekend everyone and happy stitching, Fenny. |

Hi Fenny----Yes, one must be an excellent stitcher to not have ridges when doing a piece square by square, or page by page. Like Fern, I also grid, but I
don't stick exclusively within the 100 x 100 stitch squares. I do go out a bit beyond the grid if I am stitching with the same color. In doing the sky,
however, (like I do with Marty Bells) I stitch it last and go all the way across the piece. I have tried stopping, but it was always apparent to me where it
was.
We are having a warm spring here right now......no sooner than it's needed. The flowering pear trees are in bloom and they grow in profusion around here. Everything is white (pear), yellow (forcythia), and pink (magnolia) and with those graceful weeping cherry trees. Even with the price of gas, I just had to go sight-seeing to take in all the breath-taking sights today. We planted 8 rhododendron bushes today on the side of the house. We had take several trees down there, and decided to clean out the brush and scrub that was there. So now I hope we'll have lawn and flowers on that side (if the deer don't eat them.) Helen |
